The littoral environment is where land, catchment, coast, and adjacent waters interact.
Defence and hydrographic practice treat the littoral as the connected zone of approaches — not a beach line. Marine Sentinel uses the same geography for Blue Economy evidence: catchments and rivers that discharge to coast, the nearshore, straits, and the open ocean immediately beyond.
This page is the Blue Economy / Blue Carbon evidence surface. It is not the product home. Marine Sentinel’s watch floor — atmosphere, vessel behaviour, pollution events — remains on the main intelligence map.

What this evidence layer is
Marine Sentinel documents and versions the Blue Economy evidence base across connected marine regions. The Singapore and Straits system is the first institutional case study. The East Bintan marine system is the first littoral demonstrator geography.
Hartigan & Associates and Ecological Engineering deliver the Index. Marine Sentinel does not calculate national marine-industry GDP, value added, employment, FTE, or multipliers, and does not convert habitat area automatically into carbon stock.
